European Disc Golf Festival to Host a Major in 2025
In 2025, the esteemed European Disc Golf Festival is set to host a PDGA Major at the iconic Tallinn Song Festival Grounds in Tallinn, Estonia. Following the resounding success of the 2023 European Championships, the event's leadership team, comprised of Silver Leetma, Matthias Vutt, Ralf Rogov, Silver Kütt, Raimo Kimmel, and Tarmo Laiksoo, is thrilled to bring the prestige of a PDGA Major to Estonia. Building on this momentum, the team will organize the European Disc Golf Festival, a DGPT Europe event in 2024, leading up to the grand culmination in 2025, which will serve as the fourth PDGA Pro Major of the season.
"We are proud to have a highly skilled and experienced team at Team Disc Golf Estonia. Speaking collectively, we are sincerely grateful for the opportunity to host a Major tournament in Tallinn in 2025. The European Championships in 2023 marked the beginning of our ambitious journey. The European Disc Golf Festival in 2024, part of the DGPT elite series, is poised to expand significantly, setting the stage for an even more spectacular Major in 2025. Our vision is to showcase Estonia, especially Tallinn, as a prominent global disc golf map destination, hosting an annual premier competition that attracts the finest players and a passionate, sizable audience. We are dedicated to creating a disc golf festival that transcends being just an event; it is an immersive experience — memorable, eagerly anticipated, and brimming with emotions for years to come. Our ambitions are high, and our dedication is steadfast. Thank you, PDGA, for your trust. We assure you that not only will we meet your expectations, but we will surpass them." — Silver Leetma.
The PDGA is enthusiastic about the prospect of two major events in Europe in 2025. The dates for both the 2025 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships and the 2025 European Disc Golf Festival will be disclosed in early 2024. These events are likely to be scheduled close to each other on the 2025 calendar to optimize travel efficiencies for players.
